  • The party moves at a careful pace to avoid hazards.
  • The party comes across a fallen dead log, humming with dangerous insects, but manages to avoid it.

  • Cass stealths ahead to find a patrol we can capture and interrogate.
  • One of the camps has a wooden pen.
  • Four Blackswords mercs leave the camp. Cass continues to track them, avoiding detection.
  • The party captures a Blackswords merc.
    • She mentions a man named Almak, one of the men in town.
    • The camp contains Legate Bayton, half dozen men, half dozen goblin.
    • Sent to kill a wizard and recover something.
    • Ordered to wait for delivery.
    • Employers sent a mage with them, but she doesn't know their identities.
    • The tower has treasure, but also traps. Some of the mercs have been studying the works up there.
    • The wood pen holds 2 worgs for the goblins, one more in the tower.
    • After delivery, the employer was supposed to arrive to retrieve: possibly as soon as this evening.
  • The party leaves the Blackswords merc tied up.
    • Remove her weapons.
    • The other mercs have 18 SP, 18 GP, 15 SP, crude local map (indicating Goblins to the east at the Forest Ruins).
  • The plan
    • Present Cass as the Kenku thief.
    • Say that the party broke him out of prison and brought him here for payment.
