Flashing the screen firmware via microSD card - Phil1988/FreeDi GitHub Wiki

For all models it is possible to flash the screen firmware using a microSD card.

To do this, you need physical access of the backside of the screens PCB to have access to the microSD slot. This means that for the Q1 Pro you need to "tear down" quite some housing elements. The Plus4 does have a clued display case that can be opened using heat.

The X-Max3 and X-Plus3 the SD slot is directly accessable from the inside of the pringing chamber.

To flash the firmware, please follow this:

  1. Copy the latest *.tft file to a microSD card
  2. Turn off your printer.
  3. Insert the microSD card into your screens sd card slot.
  4. Turn on your printer. The flash process will start automatically: image
  5. Wait until you see "update successed" (no typo - its an error in the bootloader of the tft from the manufacturer) image
  6. Turn off your printer.
  7. Remove the microSD card.
  8. Turn on your printer.
