URDF stands for Unified Robotics Description Format, and is used for simulations. In the URDF the dimensions of the robot will be written down. So for example either rviz or gazebo can use this to create a visualization.

In the next couple of steps you will create this format for your own Linorobot2 so the visualization will look more like your own.
