Animals

Lil' Critters focuses on smaller animals to bring a sense of ambience into your minecraft zoo.

(From the ZAWA: Rebuilt Wiki) Animals spawn wild, and certain animals may prey on or be attacked by others. To tame wild animals, you will need Kibble and, for more aggressive animals, a Tranquilizer Gun and ammo.

Banded Penguins

Banded Penguins are coastal-dwelling, aquatic birds.

Summary

Banded Penguins are tamed with Pinniped Kibble and bred with Pinniped Vials.

Penguins have a calm activity level.

Spawning

Banded Penguins will always spawn in hot or warm beach biomes, in groups of 4-8.

Care

Tamed penguins can use the Brush and Tire Swing enrichments.

Penguins eat an Aquatic carnivore-type diet.

Variants

There are four species variants for these penguins.

  • Variant 0 is the Magellanic penguin. They are pale-footed with pale pink eye markings and black beaks. They have two thin bands of black on their chest.
  • Variant 1 is the Humboldt penguin. They are dark-footed with dark pink beak and facial markings. They have one high, thick band of black on their chest.
  • Variant 2 is the Galapagos penguin. They are dark-footed with pale pink lower-beak marking. They have two close black bands on their chest.
  • Variant 3 is the African penguin. They are dark-footed with dark pink eye markings and black beaks. They have one low, thick band of black on their chest.

Box Turtles

Summary

Box Turtles are tamed with Tortoise Kibble and bred with Tortoise Vials.

Turtles have a lazy activity level.

Spawning

Box Turtles will always spawn in hot or warm forest, sandy, and plains biomes, in groups of 1.

Care

Tamed turtles can use the Heat Lamp enrichment.

Turtles eat an Omnivore-type diet.

Variants

There are four species variants for these turtles.

  • Variant 0 is the Common box turtle.
  • Variant 1 is the Desert box turtle.
  • Variant 2 is the Eastern box turtle.
  • Variant 3 is the Gulf Coast box turtle.
  • Variant 4 is the Three-Toed box turtle.

Drops

When killed, Turtles can drop Reptile Meat and Reptile Hide.

Skunks

Skunks are tamed with Canine Kibble and bred with Canine Vials.

Skunks have a calm activity level.

Spawning

Skunks will always spawn in forest, plains, and savanna biomes, in groups of 1 to 2.

Tamed skunks can use the Brush and Tire Swing enrichments.

Skunks eat an Omnivore-type diet.

Small Clawed Otters

Summary

Small Clawed Otters are tamed with Pinniped Kibble and bred with Pinniped Vials.

Otters have an active activity level.

Spawning

Small Clawed Otters will always spawn in warm or hot river and beach biomes, in groups of 4 to 6.

Care

Tamed otters can use the Brush and Tire Swing enrichments.

Small Clawed Otters eat an Aquatic carnivore-type diet.

Tree Squirrels

Summary

Tree Squirrels are tamed with Rodent Kibble and bred with Rodent Vials.

Squirrels have a active activity level.

Spawning

Tree Squirrels will always spawn in all forest biomes, in groups of 1 to 2.

Tamed squirrels can use the Brush and Tire Swing enrichments.

Tree Squirrels eat an Omnivore-type diet.

There are four species variants for these squirrels.

  • Variant 0 is the Eastern Gray squirrel.
  • Variant 1 is the Mexican Gray squirrel.
  • Variant 2 is the Eastern Fox squirrel.
  • Variant 3 is the Eurasian Red squirrel.
  • Variant 4 is the Prevost's squirrel.
  • Variant 5 is the Forest Giant squirrel.

Tufted Deer

Summary

Tufted Deer are tamed with Ungulate Kibble and bred with Ungulate Vials.

Deer have a hasty activity level.

Spawning

Tufted Deer will always spawn in forested hills and mountainous biomes, in groups of 1.

Care

Tamed deer can use the Brush and Enrichment Ball enrichments.

Tufted Deer eat a Deer-type diet.

Diets

Aquatic Carnivore Diet

Aquatic carnivore is a specialized diet type added by Lil' Critters that merges the piscivore and shellfish diets.

Aquatic carnivore animals exclusively eat fish and shellfish.

Without additional mods, aquatic carnivore animals can eat raw cichlids, raw fish, raw salmon, clownfish, pufferfish, shrimp, and mussels. Like piscivore and shellfish, aquatic carnivore is a diet type with extensive support for other mods.

Deer Diet

Deer is a specialized diet type added by Lil' Critters that merges the grazer and leaf-eater diets.

Deer using this diet exclusively eat vegetation.

Without additional mods, Deer can eat sticks, melon, wheat, hay bales, pumpkins, grass, oak leaves, birch leaves, spruce leaves, jungle leaves, acacia leaves and dark oak leaves.

Rodent Kibble

Rodent Kibble is a special kibble used to tame animals.

Rodent kibble is crafted with 1 vanilla raw meat, 1 vanilla veggie or fruit, 1 vanilla seeds, 1 acorn or pinecone, and 1 Kibble.

Rodent kibble can also be crafted into a Rodent Vial with a bottle of water.
