25 chain is easier to work with but 35 chain is stronger.
Decide what sprockets and hubs you need to use and match the sprockets with the chain
Working with #25 chain
Keep all links that you are using separate from the area you are working in order to keep track of all half links.
When breaking chain put place the chain in the slot so that when you begin to break the chain it is flat against the back of breaker.
Then, with a 5/32 allen wrench turn the screw so that pin meets with a pin from the chain and continue screwing in until the pin that you are pushing out of the chain separates completely from the rest of the chain.
When putting the chain back together, ensure that three parts of the master link are in the connected chain
Working with #35 chain
Keep all links that you are using separate from the area you are working in order to keep track of all half links.
When breaking chain put place the chain in the slot so that when you begin to break the chain it is flat against the back of breaker.
Then, with the #35 chain breaker, break the chain by clamping the teeth of the breaker onto the sides of the chain and twisting the arm, on the top around until the chain is separated from the other part of the chain.
