Task:

• Export metadata like Data Elements and OrgUnits to the standard DHIS2 format.

Notes:

• Exporting metadata is useful for archiving or advanced data analysis.

• It is not possible to use exported metadata as a configuration file. If you want to use the exported metadata to update a configuration file, you will need to manually go through both documents.

Instructions:

Step 1: Select the 'Import-Export' app:

 

Step 2: Click on 'Meta-Data Export'.

 

Step 3: A list of selections will appear. By default, all items are selected. You can either unselect what you don't want or click 'Select None' at the bottom of the screen, then tick off your selections.

Step 4: Select the type of file format you would like to export from the first drop-down menu.

Step 5: Select whether you want the file to be 'Zipped'. 'Gzipped' or 'Uncompressed' from the second drop-down menu.

Step 6: Click 'Export'.
