The game shall be customisable so that players can build their dream bridge.

This is closely related to the principle of Physical and Digital Gameplay. It is envisioned that players will spend an amount of time setting up their physical bridge space. Ideally, this will be a room which can be segregated from the rest of the world to grant players a degree of immersion (see Sealed Bridge). How long players spend setting up such a space is entirely up to them but will always involve placing some computing devices with screens and other peripherals into the physical space in such a fashion that players can interact with all of them.

Players will more than likely choose to create a bridge space that matches the design of one from their favourite film or TV series. It should be possible to configure the game software to the extent that any such design can be created. There are very few assumptions that can be made about bridge designs so the software shouldn't make any.

You cannot even assume that the bridge space will have gravity. Because what self-respecting astronaut doesn't want to play spaceship games on the International Space Station?
