Sealed Bridge - LSFN/Design GitHub Wiki

The bridge of a ship is a sealed space which no in-game object can enter or damage.

This principle exists to allow us to create an immersive game experience. If objects could enter the in-game bridge of a ship then the immersion would be broken the moment that something did. It would be far better to have the bridge completely sealed with indestructible walls (explain this away in-game with technobabble).

It should be noted that this principle does not prevent light or sound getting into the bridge. It is envisioned that some players will put speakers around their bridge space and then use surround sound to make it feel like the rest of the ship is there. For instance, damage to the hull will sound like it's coming from beyond one of the bridge space's walls.
