Download
ckan-windows.exe(under "Assets") from the latest CKAN release -
Save
ckan-windows.exesomewhere you remember. People often place it inside the root of their KSP folder, on their Desktop, or in their user folder. Don't put it in GameData, though. -
Run
ckan-windows.exe
Windows XP is not officially supported but there is an unofficial guide.
As of CKAN v1.36.4, dark mode is natively supported on Windows 11 via the standard system setting.

CKAN's colors are controlled by the Windows Control Panel's advanced appearance settings:
Microsoft removed this window in Windows 8 and later, but the settings are still there in the registry and still work. If you wish you could still edit these colors, consider letting Microsoft know how you feel about that decision as their customer. You can set the registry keys by importing .reg files:

DarkTheme.reg - Install this to set a dark theme created for Windows users by the CKAN team:

DefaultTheme.reg - Install this to revert to revert back to normal bright colors
Click Yes, then reboot to apply the settings.
