Data Validation
Data Validation allows you to create No-Go failure situations by comparing, using Equal or Not Equal methods, fixed values or variable values taken from the Scan Station. This happens on the Upstream so a Hermes Board Record will be checked on Entry to the SMT Machine, if you want the Board to be validated on Exit instead, Data Validation is also available on the Downstream.
Examples
- NULL or Blank values.
- Replacing Hermes Property values with values taken from the Scanned Value.
- Barcodes are identical between the Hermes Property and the Scanned Value.
Product Recipe Changeover
Users or Third Party Systems such as SMT Conveyors, can be alerted when property values of the Hermes Board Record of the next Printed Circuit Board (Board) has changed from the previous Board. The system will prevent movement of the Board until the User or Third Party System has acknowledged the change. There are 3 ways this can be achieved.
- Operator Manual Approval
- Automatic via Mismatch Events without Feedback
- Automatic via Mismatch Events with Feedback
Operator Manual Approval allows the User to acknowledge the change, and often they would manually change values on the Third Party System, therefore the acknowledgment is confirming the change has been made.
Automatic via Mismatch Events fires a MultiPlug Events containing the new values which can be sent to Third Party System using other MultiPlug Extensions such has the Serial Port or Network Sockets.
Without Feedback indicates the Third Party System will not reply back with a response. The use of the SMEMA Machine Ready signal and a Recheck Machine Ready Delay is used to determine whether the Board can move into the attached SMT Machine. The Recheck Machine Ready Delay is used as the SMEMA Machine Ready signal may not go Not Ready instantly. If the SMEMA Machine Ready signal still indicates the Machine Ready after the Recheck Machine Ready Delay elapses it is considered the Third Party System is setup for a Board movement to continue.
With Feedback indicates the Third Party System will reply back with a response, for example Okay. Whatever the SMEMA Machine Ready signal is, the Okay response will be waited for before the Board will be moved into the attached SMT Machine. Not needing a Recheck Machine Ready Delay means this is a quickest approach to making sure the third party system is updated and setup with the new values.
Mismatch Events
Mismatch Events are used for Product Recipe Changeover. By default the properties of the Hermes Board Record are split into two MultiPlug Events called GUID-ProductRecipeMismatch and GUID-MeasurementsMismatch containing different properties. As with all Multiplug Events, the names of these events can be changed.
GUID-ProductRecipeMismatch
This Event contains the following Hermes Board Record properties: Board ID, Board ID Created By, Failed Board, Product Type ID, Flipped Board, Top Barcode, Bottom Barcode, Work Order ID, Batch ID, Route, Action
GUID-MeasurementsMismatch
This Event contains the following Hermes Board Record properties: Width, Length, Thickness, Conveyor Speed, Top Clearance Height, Bottom Clearance Height, Weight and gives the option to set Measurement Value Formatting which allows formatting of the measurements values, for example to always be 4 digits long.
Both Events have the option to Fire Event on Every Board, which will ignore Mismatch checking and create an Event on every board movement, but also potentially creating an additional movement delay.
Ticking the checkbox associated with the property will Enable the Mismatch checking for that property and if the value is different from the previous Hermes Board Record the associated Event linked to that property will be created.
Example Configurations
Automatic Product Recipe Changeover via Mismatch Events without Feedback
In this example we will send the Board Width to a SMT Conveyor when the property value differs from the previous Board. The SMT Conveyor will not send any response to our message.
