Guide: how to make a DAO proposal - Hemis-Blockchain/Hemis GitHub Wiki
Introduction
We at Hemis believe that participating in a democratic process should be made as easy as possible. And so our DAO is fully integrated into the GUI client. This guide gives a short overview on how to make a proposal through the Hemis GUI client. For more information on what the DAO is, please read this short explanation.
You can also make a proposal through the command line. Please refer to the API Calls list for the necessary commands.
How to make a proposal
The Hemis DAO reserves around 21000 HMS tokens each month for community made funding proposals. To make your own proposal you click the DAO button in your wallet and click Create Proposal on the top right (your wallet must be unlocked.)
A screen will pop up, asking you for the name of your proposal and for a link. You can name your proposal whatever you like within a character limit of 20. You can also add a link. So you could link to a forum post explaining your proposal and why you want the money. The link has to start with https://.
On the next screen we see the payment information. Here you fill in the address the tokens should be sent to (your address) and the amount. There is another dropdown that lets you select a number of months but you can usually just leave it at 1. This is for when you want a recurring payment to happen for your proposal for whatever reason.
On the next screen you will see a little overview of the proposal you just made. When you click Send the 25 HMS fee will be deducted from your wallet and your proposal will be submitted to the network for everyone to see and vote upon.
How do I get my proposal passed?
Every Gamemaster on the network gets 1 vote. And you will need a majority Yes vote for your proposal to pass. So you will need Gamemaster owners to support your idea. To make this easier, the Core Team has added a basic forum functionality to the Discord. A new forum post will be made for every new proposal on the network. On this forum post the creator of the proposal can explain their ideas and the community can discuss.
