The Margay is a small feline native to South America.

Spawning and taming

Margay are an rare spawn in wet rainforest biomes & dry rainforest biomes. They spawn alone. They have a 1:2 sex ratio and are not sexually dimorphic.

Margay are medium speed, territorial animals and are harmless if left alone. However, players who get too close to them will become easy prey to these deadly felines.

Keepers should be sure to bring a tranquiliser gun and darts to subdue these quick, territorial predators. Margay can be captured and transported with either capture nets or capture cages.

The Margay can be tamed with carnivore kibble.

Care

Margay have 5 hearts (10 points) of health, can deal 1 heart (2 points) of damage, and drop 2 small meat upon death.

The Margay is a small animal with modest food needs. They eat a small carnivore diet, consisting of small animal prey.

Margay can use scented ball, scratching post, ball-pit and beef ice treat enrichment items.

The Margay is a low fertility species, and can be bred with small meat. As small-sized animals they have a gestation period of 40000 ticks, and give birth to 1-2 kittens that will take 3 1/3 minecraft days to reach adulthood.

Exhibit building

(note: exhibit building sections contain a mix of gameplay information and building advice. Not all recommendations are necessary to keep animals happy, fed, and watered, but can help players build a realistic enclosure.)

Variants

Margay have 4 natural variants: Papaya, Mango, Pineapple and Lychee. Kiwi, a mostly white variant and Nectarine, a spotless variant, are breed-only and do not spawn naturally.
