The Knoxville Locomotive Works is in… well… Knoxville, Tennessee. It was formed in 1998 by the Gulf & Ohio Railways, and today is very notable for its rebuilds of locomotives, even converting the already convertible gensets to converted convertible locomotives, mainly relying on German Manufacturer Motoren-und Turbinen-Union (MTU; You might also know them as Maybach) to produce Tier 4 engines to place in their locomotives, though it is not just limited to MTU, as a couple engines in KLW’s catalogue are Cummins powered.
