Daoirse - DimethylSulfate/drooldick GitHub Wiki
aka: Zero (by people from her own timeline), Saoirse D'arcy (legal name)
Some people have the worst luck.
Appearance
- Never wears short sleeves or open-backed clothes — it is rumored she has "unfortunate" tattoos
- Dresses somewhat formally, unless she's working with messy things in her workshop
- Same height as Zero, but much thinner
Fast Facts
- Has taught herself mechanical and electrical engineering, as well as computer programming, by paying Zero to read textbooks and summarize them to her
- Claims to be a better mechanic but worse programmer than Sleepy
- "Daoirse" is an Irish noun that can be translated as "slavery" or "oppression," and is the opposite of the noun saoirse meaning "freedom" — it's not hard to see why Zero imposed this nickname upon her more servile counterpart
Combat
It is reasonable to assume that she has a similar skillset to Zero. However, she also shown the ability to use basic magic, mostly life-sustaining and support spells rather than "blasts" of force.
Daoirse's low weight gives her less calories work with when it comes to xenoexpression, but she did at one point pull off a very substantial change into quadruped. At the time, no one in Zero's timeline had ever successfully done a quadrupedal change. That feat is less impressive nowadays, but indicates she could well be a master of the art if she had the energy.
Relationships
with Jang-mi the Elder
"I don't want to talk about it."
with Jang-mi the Younger
Jang-mi the Younger wishes to believe that Daoirse's more erratic actions can be explained away by her occasional drug use rather than a trauma response. The existence of Daoirse has implications for her own relationship with Zero, and she fears Zero will one day become cowardly and passive in the face of her oppressors. Zero, who already considers herself risk-averse, would prefer JmtY were a bit more understanding.

with Zero
Zero took the legal and social fall for one of Daoirse's most heinous acts, and while her name was eventually cleared, Zero understandably still holds a grudge. She also believes Daoirse might be irredeemable for cooperating with Síle, but has decided that is between Daoirse and God.
Daoirse is not as protective of Zero as she is Sleepy, but still tries to warn her of what Daoirse sees as moral failings or shortsightedness.
