The Hotkey Setup Tab: Your Primary Loadout Terminal

Welcome to the command center, Helldiver. The Hotkey Setup tab is where you will requisition your Stratagems and assign them to rapid-deployment hotkeys. A well-prepared loadout is the first step to a successful mission.

Anatomy of a Stratagem Slot

Each row in this window represents one Stratagem you can call down. Here's a breakdown of the components from left to right:

  • 💀 Status Skull: This is your readiness indicator.

    • Inactive Skull (Gray): The slot is not fully configured. You are not mission-ready.
    • Active Skull (Colored): The slot has a Stratagem and a Hotkey assigned. It is armed and ready.

  • Select Category Dropdown: First, choose the type of support you require (e.g., Supply, Defensive, Offensive).

  • Select Stratagem Dropdown: Once a category is chosen, this list will populate with all available assets of that type. The dropdown conveniently shows both the Stratagem's name and its activation code.

  • Set Hotkey Button: Click this to assign a custom activation key. The "Set Hotkey" dialog supports nearly any key or combination:

    • Single keys (F1, 6, .)
    • Numpad keys (Numpad 5, Numpad +)
    • Modifier combos (Ctrl+S, Ctrl+Alt+F)
    • Mouse buttons (Mouse4, Mouse5) and their modifier combos (Shift+Mouse5)

  • ❌ Delete Button: Permanently removes the slot from your current configuration.

⚙️ Your First Deployment: Step-by-Step Configuration

Here is the standard procedure for requisitioning a Stratagem for hotkey deployment:

  1. Begin with an empty slot. If you don't have one, click the ✔ Add Stratagem Slot button.
  2. Select a Category: Click the first dropdown and select a category, for example, "Mission Stratagems".
  3. Select a Stratagem: The second dropdown is now active. Select "Reinforce" from the list.
  4. Assign a Hotkey: Click the Set Hotkey button. A new window will appear. Press the key you want to use—for example, the R key—and click "OK". The button text will now display R.
  5. Confirm Readiness: Observe that the Skull Icon on the left has now changed to its active, colored state. Your "Reinforce" hotkey is now part of your active configuration.
  6. Repeat this process for all your desired Stratagems.

💡 Tips from the Quartermaster

  • More Firepower!: You are not limited to just four slots. Click the ✔ Add Stratagem Slot button to prepare for longer, more demanding missions that require a wider array of support.
  • Safety First: Remember, recruit! Any change to your loadout requires re-authorization. If you change a hotkey or select a different stratagem while the listener is active, the system will go offline for safety. The Activity Log will notify you to click the main Activate Hotkeys button again to get back in the fight with your new settings.
