Here are the most likely culprits:

  • The communication protocol on the dynamical USB2Dynamixel is set to the wrong protocol. It should be set to RS-485:
  • It is a new actuator and you have not set up the ID, the baud rate is not set correctly, the firmware is out or date, the firmware is corrupted, or you are using the wrong dynamical protocol (1.0 vs. 2.0), in which case follow this guide.
