Hardware Issue ‐ One or More Thrusters are Stuck Open - Carleton-SRCL/SPOT GitHub Wiki

There is an open issue where sometimes a thruster will be stuck open. This typically occurs when a platform is left on for some amount of time without cycling any GPIO pins. The going theory is that this is related to the circuitry on the the platform. At this time, the problem is mostly related to RED.

To temporarily resolve this problem, try the following:

  1. From the GUI (or manually through command line SSH), turn the pucks ON and OFF.
  2. If issue persists, also try cycling all of the thrusters (also via the GUI).
  3. If issue persists, try power cycling the platform.
  4. If issue persists, try reseating the GPIO connections on both the Xavier and on the breadboard.
  5. If issue persists, the most likely problem is either the MOSFET or the breadboard itself - both have a history of failure. Try replacing the MOSFET, and if that fails, try using a new breadboard or a breadboard from another platform for troubleshooting.
