Willshapers bond with Lightspren, and have access to the surges of cohesion and transportation. The Lightspren appear as a small ball of light, often trailing a tail of light like a comet. The Willshapers are associated with the Herald Kelek, the amethyst polestone, and the colour purple.
The Willshapers believe strongly that all people should be free to make their own choices. Their oaths are themed toward freedom and letting people be free to express themselves and make their own way in life.
In the present day on Roshar, the Lightspren refuse radiant bonds with humans, the only known living Willshapers being Singers.
As with most, the ideals of the Willshapers are currently unknown, beyond the first. And so, for the unknown ideals, you currently need only say "I will", followed by whatever you feel is appropriate, to achieve the ideal. You still need the appropriate prerequisites. (This will be updated when the RPG is released).
The Second Ideal of the Willshapers
I will seek freedom for those in bondage.
After swearing this ideal, the Willshaper gains access to their surges. After swearing this ideal, a lightspren is summoned, bonded to the Willshaper.

In order to swear this ideal, the Willshaper must have have demonstrated their dedication to freedom and adventure in one of the following ways:
- Locate a Nether Fortress
- Find a Bastion
- Find a Stronghold
- Free a zombie villager from their curse
After attaining this ideal, the Willshaper is able to summon their lightspren as a Shardblade! This Blade can be summoned even if you are holding something (you'll drop it!), or by attacking the air with an empty hand, as your spren can anticipate when they are needed!
The Fourth Ideal of the Willshapers

In order to swear this ideal, the Willshaper must have have demonstrated their dedication to freedon and adventure in one of the following ways:
- Explore all Nether biomes
- Free the End
- Win a Raid
- Discover every Overworld biome
After attaining this ideal, the Willshaper is able to summon their own Shardplate! Willshaper Plate is made of joyspren. Summon it by pressing the Summon Plate Key (` by default). This Plate can be summoned or dismissed at will.
