Dustbringers - Capaloptocus/wordsofradiancemod GitHub Wiki
Dustbringers bond with Ashspren, and have access to the surges of division and abrasion. The Ashspren appear as cracks along the ground or in the air, and when they move they seem to burn through objects. The Dustbringers are associated with the Herald Chanaranach, the ruby polestone, and the colour red.
Dustbringer oaths were themed toward responsibility. They were led to understand that the powers they used needed to be properly channeled, much as their own desires and wills needed proper form and shape. As a Dustbringer moved through the oaths, they were taught greater powers of destruction—and are one of the only orders where their abilities weren’t all available at the beginning, but instead were delivered slowly, as they made the proper oaths. Each oath led to a greater understanding of power, the nature of holding it, and the associated responsibility.
As with most, the ideals of the Dustbringers are currently unknown, beyond the first. And so, for the unknown ideals, you currently need only say "I will", followed by whatever you feel is appropriate, to achieve the ideal. You still need the appropriate prerequisites. (This will be updated when the RPG is released).
The Second Ideal of the Dustbringers
I will seek self-mastery
After swearing this ideal, the Dustbringer gains access to abrasion. After swearing this ideal, an ashspren is summoned, bonded to the Dustbringer.
The Third Ideal of the Dustbringers
I will
In order to swear this ideal, the Dustbringer must have have demonstrated their self-mastery in one of the following ways:
- Hit the bullseye of a Target block from at least 30 meters away
- Carefully make a Decorated Pot out of 4 Pottery Sherds
- Protect a Villager from lightning without starting a fire
- Sneak near a Sculk Sensor or Warden to prevent it from detecting you
- Walk on Powder Snow... without sinking in it
After attaining this ideal, the Dustbringer is able to summon their ashspren as a Shardblade! This Blade can be summoned even if you are holding something (you'll drop it!), or by attacking the air with an empty hand, as your spren can anticipate when they are needed!
The Fourth Ideal of the Dustbringers
I will
In order to swear this ideal, the Dustbringer must have have demonstrated their self-mastery in one of the following ways:
- Sneak near a Sculk Sensor or Warden to prevent it from detecting you
- Carefully make a Decorated Pot out of 4 Pottery Sherds
After attaining this ideal, the Dustbringer is able to summon their own Shardplate! Dustbringer Plate is made of flamespren. Summon it by pressing the Summon Plate Key (` by default). This Plate can be summoned or dismissed at will.
