The triangle of weirdness follows a concept, in which a game world is split up into three categories: activities, characters and world. For a successful and not boring game one of these should be weird. For the other two, the designers should resort to more traditional measures. This concept is used to not overwhelm the players as well.

In Hecatomb the weird aspects are the characters. The world concept is something familiar from other media or our own history. Whilst the activities are understandable from the players standpoint, the characters are quite extraordinary.
