Item Page
[]
Note the breadcrumbs on the top right of the page. They allow you to go back to the pages with data for the Unit Details or Collection Details for the Unit or Collection where this item belongs.
You get to the Item page by clicking the View button corresponding to the desired Item on the Collection Items section on the Collection page (see Collections). On the top of the Item page is the Item Details section showing the item's attribute data. The bottom part of the page is the Files section, which shows the list of files that constitute the item. If you choose to edit the attribute data of the item, you should remember to save your changes. The system will warn you if you try to leave the page when you have unsaved changes. See information below on creating a new item for general description of an Item's attributes.
You can use a file's corresponding View button to access the File Details. You can also upload a new file to be added to the Item in one of two ways:
- Click on the Browse... button. A dialog window opens and allows you to navigate your local file system and select a file. Then you click on the Upload button.
- You can use the drag-n-drop feature by dragging the file from your local file system's window and dropping it in the dotted line area on the bottom of the page.
When your file has been uploaded, you will be able to edit your files label and description.
To delete a file from the list of files that constitute this item, click on the corresponding Remove file link. This will delete the file from the system. Note: this operation cannot be undone. If you delete a file by mistake, you will have to re-upload it.
Create New Item
Similar to previous sections, to create an item click the Create New Item button on the top right of the Collection Items section of the Collection page (see Collections).\
]\
Once clicked, the link should bring you to a form titled "Item Details".
Through this form you can provide the item's name, description, external source, and ID. External Source refers to the source system for the Item; and External ID refers to the ID of this item in the External Source. Knowing this information, AMP will be able to push Item metadata generated in AMP to the item in the source system.\
Similar to the Unit Details and Collection Details forms, the sections titled Created By, Modified By, Date Created, and Modified Date, will be populated with the record data when you hit save.
