Producer

Primary Role:
Drive project momentum, coordinate disciplines, and ensure on-time delivery.

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee all aspects of game development to ensure milestones are met and scope is maintained.
  • Plan, coordinate, and manage sprint cycles using agile methodologies (Scrum/Kanban).
  • Collaborate with discipline leads to set sprint priorities and review deliverables.
  • Maintain project roadmaps, milestone timelines, and ensure alignment with overall vision and deadlines.
  • Organize and lead all meetings.
  • Ensure all project documentation is properly structured and up to date.
  • Identify production risks early and work with the team to resolve blockers and maintain forward momentum.
  • Serve as the central point of contact between developers, stakeholders, and external partners.
  • Review leads’ tasks.

Development Lead

Primary Role:
Guide the game’s technical direction and ensure robust, maintainable code.

Responsibilities:

  • Review all programming tasks.
  • Break down features and provide accurate development time estimates.
  • Perform code reviews and maintain code quality standards.
  • Manage the source control system including branching strategies, integration processes, and pull request reviews.
  • Ensure the stability and performance of weekly builds.

Design Lead

Primary Role:
Own and maintain the creative vision and core gameplay experience.

Responsibilities:

  • Review and guide all design-related and UX-related work.
  • Take notes during meetings.
  • Estimate design work.
  • Ensure design documents are maintained and updated frequently.
  • Ensure the design vision is consistently executed across all departments and gameplay systems.
  • Review gameplay balance, tuning, and player feedback in playtesting sessions to guide iterative improvements.

Art Lead

Primary Role:
Define and maintain the game's visual style.

Responsibilities:

  • Review all art-related work.
  • Create time estimates for art tasks.
  • Create and maintain visual development materials such as:
    • Mood boards
    • Color palletes
    • etc.
  • Ensure art assets meet technical requirements (e.g., LODs).
  • Maintain consistent visual language throughout the game by providing critique and feedback to the art team.

Audio Lead

Primary Role: Define and maintain the game's auditory style, ensuring that the soundscapes, and music enhance the gameplay experience.

Responsibilities:

  • Create time estimates for all audio tasks.
  • Develop and maintain audio materials and documentation such as:
    • Audio Design and Inspiration Docs: Create comprehensive documents that outline the auditory vision for the game. This includes references, sound style, and thematic elements that should inform every audio asset created (sound effects, environment sounds, music, etc.).
    • Implementation Guides: Produce clear documentation for how specific sounds should be triggered, and used in-game. This ensures the dev team can effectively work audio.
    • Sound Database: Maintain a well-organized database for all audio assets, ensuring that files are properly named, versioned, and stored for easy access and readability.
  • Work in tandem with other department leads to ensure that audio assets seamlessly fit within the game's assets and mechanics.
  • Establish and manage a feedback loop between design and audio to ensure that the audio aligns with and supports the overall design vision of the game.
