Github Overview

Key discussions:

  • Wiki:
    • The wiki holds a lot of information and all the documentation for our game
    • GitHub is used by many industries, and allows us to link all of our documentation together.
    • For onboarding: Please read the wiki page that Alexis created for learning how to utilize git and its documentation.
    • Also find your role in Onboarding, the see what you need to read under Required Reads!
    • All meeting slides will be posted close to each each meeting, along with notes taken.
  • Timelines
    • Each sprint is weekly, so make sure to look at your responsibilities early and get a jump on your tasks!
    • Each discipline has a project board to see what tasks need to be done
    • These include what they are, when they need to be done, an estimate on how long they will take, etc.
    • These tasks can be moved to different sections to mark where they are in progress. Alexis will take tasks out of the backlog and assign them. After that, it is each person's responsibilities to move the status according to where it is in the process of being completed. Make sure to update your logged hours, so that we know how long they took, and so that Team Leads can get better at estimating how much time these tasks take to complete.
    • Once a task is completed, move them over to In Review after making a pull request. A Team Lead will review your work and ask for changes or approve these changes. Once it is fully approved, you may move said card into complete.
    • Whenever you create a card, let Alexis or a Team Lead know, so that we may make estimations and assign it a priority.

Action items:

  • First Tasks
    • Assigned to: All doing pre-production – Due by: August 10

Timeline and first tasks

Key discussions:

  • Each person has a few tasks lined up in the sprint backlog on your respective boards!
    • Take a look at what needs to be done, and ask questions of a Team Lead or Alexis if you are not able to understand what is being asked or what the goal is. Sometimes something is not clear, but there may be an answer inside of the wiki about how the game has been planned out. Take a look around there if you are confused at first.

3. Additional Notes

  • Make sure to read up inside the project wiki to find everything about the game if you have questions! There is a lot of good stuff there, and the Team Leads have spent the past month making sure as much as possible is planned out.
