Old Mykuxngō Naming Convention
While in later years, most people from Mohuxjo use the same naming system as most of the rest of the world, some people still opt to use the old naming convention. This convention is as follows:
- First name: Given name; chosen by both parents.
- Second name: Additional name; this typically comes from the mother's second name.
- Third name: Derived name; follows conventions described below.
- Fourth name: Patrilineal name; comes from the father's or husband's patrilineal name.
- Fifth name: Maiden name; Very rarely used, but is a patrilineal name ignoring marriage used exclusively for women.
Derived Name Convention:
The derived name is constructed by piecing together letters and syllables from other names.
- The first letter is the first letter of the mother's fifth name.
- The second letter is the first letter of the father's given name.
- The second syllable is formed based on the second and third letter of the mother's derived name.
- The last syllable(s) is/are a gendered number based on birth order, following the convention shown in the table. It is typically up to the parents whether or not to count males and females separately.
