AppChan on Opera
Issues
- AppChan needs to be installed as a Userscript rather than a Userstyle. Ask Jason, the Stylish developer, to port it to Opera if you want to have it available: [email protected].
- You should disable the "post form labels" option because Opera's "browse" button overlaps the "File" text and looks bad.
- If you attempt to open the "Install as UserJS" link in a new tab, userstyles.org will spit out broken code.
- If you attempt to right click and "Save As..." the "Install as UserJS" link, userstyles.org will also spit out broken code.
Installation Instructions
- Go to the official AppChan page.
- Read through the different options and select all the options you'd like to have, or alternatively let AppChan choose the defaults for you.
- LEFT click the "Install as UserJS" link in the green box underneath the options. Do not right click it and Save Target As... or it will not work. Right clicking it gives you a basic AppChan with no options selected. Left clicking it creates a new one for you with every option put in.
- Save the JS page that pops up into a new empty folder or, if applicable, into your own previously made Opera JS folder.
- Verify Opera loads user JS
Opera -> Settings -> Preferences -> Advanced -> Content -> JavaScript Options
- Verify the "User JavaScript folder" setting matches the folder you saved AppChan into. Change it if it does not. Using AppChan as a site style will probably not work due to 4chan's various sub domains.
That's all! You should now have a working AppChan installation upon refresh of 4chan. If you find anything doesn't work, check the options related to what's broken to see if you configured AppChan correctly.
Enjoy.
