Dear Valued Customer,
As your local, not-for-profit power provider, CleanPowerSF is committed to providing you with clean energy at affordable and predictable rates. In the last year, we saved CleanPowerSF customers $50 million compared to PG&E, while delivering at least 90% clean and renewable energy to all our customers.
Once a year, CleanPowerSF updates its rates based on the cost of providing power to our customers. New rates for CleanPowerSF customers went into effect on July 1, 2024. On average, CleanPowerSF residential customers will see a $4 increase per month for generation service. Read more here about the July 1st rate change.
We are here to support our customers. We continue to offer discounted rates and bill assistance. If you need help paying your bill, learn more at cleanpowersf.org/loweryourbill.
If you have questions about your bill or the July 1st rate change, contact CleanPowerSF customer support at (415) 554-0773 or [email protected].
Thank you for being a CleanPowerSF customer!
P.S. Did you see our communications about rates this year? If so, we want to know how we did. Take our short survey.
The SFPUC is expanding its renewable energy portfolio and ensuring grid reliability with the commissioning of a new 20 megawatt solar and 15 megawatt battery energy storage project in Stanislaus County. The battery will store electricity and deliver it to customers when demand is high, like on hot summer days. The project will generate enough clean power each year to support the energy needs of 17,000 homes in SF, while bolstering San Franciscoโs renewable energy supply. Read more about this milestone in reliability and sustainability.
Warm weather and wildfire season are quicky approaching, and we want our customers to be prepared in the event of a Flex Alert or PG&E Public Safety Shutoff. While a Flex Alert is a voluntary call to conserve energy, a Public Safety Shutoff could result in the loss of power, even outside high fire threats areas. While the likelihood of such an event is low in San Francisco, preparing in advance is still key. Learn how to keep you and your family safe this summer.
We are committed to keeping our rates affordable and providing ways for customers to lower their bills. One way to lower your electricity bill is by enrolling in a monthly bill discount program, like California Alternate Rates for Energy (CARE) or Family Electric Rate Assistance (FERA). For eligible customers, CARE provides a 20% monthly discount on electricity and gas, and FERA provides an 18% discount on electricity bills. Check your eligbility and apply today.
New electricity rates for CleanPowerSF customers were recently adopted by the San Francisco Public Utilities Commission. CleanPowerSF generation charges are reflected on your monthly PG&E bill and comprise a portion of your total electricity charges. Learn more.

_ Correction: Last week, you received an email from CleanPowerSF and PG&E called "Understanding Your Energy Options." We incorrectly listed the year for the Electric Power Generation Mix. It should have read 2023, not 2024. We apologize for the error._
