Never touch a downed power line

Dear Valued Customer:

A power line can go down for several reasons, from an extreme weather event to a car crashing into a utility pole. Watch and learn how to stay safe around downed power lines.

Here's how to stay safe if a power line goes down in your community:

  • Never touch it and stay away as it can still be live.
  • Immediately call 9-1-1 and then call PG&E at 1-800-743-5000.
  • Keep everyone, including kids and pets, away from a downed line.
  • Do not touch anything or anyone who has been in contact with a downed power line.
  • Avoid driving over a downed power line.

Also, please update your contact information at www.pge.com/alerts so PG&E can notify you if there are service interruptions.

Sincerely,
