CleanPowerSF 💧
Happy Earth Month!
CleanPowerSF delivers affordable, clean electricity to about 385,000 customers in San Francisco and offers programs and rebates to help you save money and reduce your impact on the environment. By being our customer, you are part of the clean energy movement.
We’re also working to make sure all of our customers are part of the clean energy transition. Here’s how:
- Affordable Energy: Last year, CleanPowerSF residential and commercial customers saved more than $50 million compared to PG&E rates.
- Clean Electricity: CleanPowerSF customers receive cleaner energy compared to PG&E. Green customers receive energy that is at least 90% clean and renewable and SuperGreen customers receive energy that is 100% California Renewables Portfolio Standard-certified renewable energy.
- Going All-Electric: CleanPowerSF helps our customers shift away from dirty
fossil fuels to clean electricity.
- Electrify My Ride: Provides a $1,000 e-bike rebate for CleanPowerSF customers with low-incomes. E-Bikes reduce your environmental impact and can make your commute or errands more affordable.
- Heat Pump Water Heater: With the help of qualified contractors and limited-time incentive savings, we're here to help you ditch that no-good gas water heater for good. Don’t wait until your current heater wears out. Make the change today! Find a participating contractor.
Thank you for being a CleanPowerSF customer and doing your part this Earth Month—and every month!

Our City Our Power is San Francisco’s effort to purchase the local electricity grid from PG&E to provide San Franciscans with more affordable electric rates, cleaner energy, and greater investment in the local community.
Join us to learn about why San Francisco is pursuing public power, where we are in the process for acquiring PG&E’s grid assets, and how you can get involved in this campaign! Register for the Zoom webinar here.
A special bill credit is coming to your April bill! Every spring and fall, California utility customers, including CleanPowerSF customers, receive credits on their electric and natural gas bills. Funding for the credit comes from California’s Cap-and-Trade Program to address climate change. You can expect to receive up to a $140 credit on your next bill if you pay for both natural gas and electricity service. Learn more about the California Climate Credit.
CleanPowerSF is updating electricity rates on July 1, 2024. Our rates are carefully designed to reflect the true cost of supply power while prioritizing affordability, predictability, and sustainability As a not-for-profit provider, we reinvest our revenues back into programs and services that benefit San Francisco.
We set our electricity rates once a year through a public process. Take part and learn more: sfpuc.org/PowerRates.
