Time Settings and Standardizing Timezones

Setting and Standardizing Time Settings on Windows

On Windows, the time settings can be adjusted from the Control Panel. To access the Control Panel, click the Start menu, and then click "Control Panel." From there, select "Date and Time."

In the Date and Time window, click the "Internet Time" tab. Here you can click the "Change Settings" button to adjust the time server, which is the source for synchronizing your computer's clock. By default, Windows will use the time.windows.com server, but you can change it to another time server if needed.

To set the timezone, click the "Change time zone" button. Here you can select your preferred timezone from a list of available timezones. Make sure to select the correct timezone, as it will affect the display of the date and time on your computer.

  • Red Hat: Open the terminal and enter the "timedatectl" command. This will show the current time and date settings, and you can use the command to adjust the time and date as needed.
  • Fedora: Open the terminal and enter the "timedatectl" command. This will show the current time and date settings, and you can use the command to adjust the time and date as needed.
