Vim's Conventions for "i" and "a" Keys

  • Switching from Normal to Insert mode: `i`/`I`/`a`/`A`.
  • Switching from Visual-block to Insert mode: `I`/`A`.
  • In Visual and Operator-Pending modes, the `i` and `a` form the first half of a text object.
