End of Shift Day - yrestom/POS-Awesome GitHub Wiki

At the end of the trading day the cashier will need to cash out as well as close the shift for the day.

If the shift is not closed after trading the system will assume that the trading still continues, even till the next day. It is a good idea to ensure the cashier closes out after each trading session.

Cashier clicks on "MENU" as shown below then clicks "Close Shift" to start the End of Shift process.

When she clicks on "Close Shift" the following pop up page comes up

A list of all the Modes of Payment allowed for the cashier via POS Profile is displayed.

The Cashier is required to key in the actual amount she has in hand for each payment mode in the "Closing Amount" column. Press Enter.

The system calculates the difference automatically.

Click Submit

The Shift is closed

MANAGER CLOSING FOR CASHIER

Some retail organisations do not want the cashiers closing by themselves, this task is required to be done by the Manager.

If this is the situation then the POS Profile "Hide Close Shift" needs to be checked

Once this is checked the cashier will no longer have access to the Close Shift option in POS

In this situation the Manager will need to go to POS Closing Shift and manually close the Cashier's Shift

In The POS Closing Shift the Manager will need to pick the POS Opening Shift that is to be closed.

Once he picks this Opening Shift the details are automatically displayed (Cashier name, period and all the invoices)

The Manager will be required to key in the actual amount received from the cashier in the "Closing Amount" Column.

Click Save and Submit.

This closes the shift for the Cashier.
