Issues syncing between OneDrive cloud and computer

If sync between OneDrive cloud and computer does not work, even though all settings are correct and there are no errors reported, try the following:

  • Click [Win] + [R]
  • Type skydrive.exe /reset
  • Click [Enter]

Make OneDrive your default My Documents

First you need to make sure you have OneDrive on your computer You can check it by clicking [Win] and start typing OneDrive You also need to make sure it exists in your personal directory. You can do it by:

  • Click [Win] + [E]
  • Go to C:\Users*your_name*
  • look for a folder named SkyDrive (if there is folder OneDrive but no SkyDrive, replace SkyDrive with OneDrive in the rest of the instructions bellow) If you do not have it, download and install it from OneDrive

Next:

  • Click [Win] + [E]
  • Go to C:\Users\ your_name
  • Right-click on the Documents folder, select Properties and then Location
  • Change the location from C:\Users\ your_name\Documents to C:\Users\ your_name\SkyDrive\Documents
