Salvaging is a necessary gathering profession.

The essence it produces is used in many recipes, and it's also a way to get rid of your unwanted gear.

You get experience and drops by salvaging gear in the Salvage Station.

Higher level gear give essence of higher tier.

Notes:

• only gear with Age of Exile stats can be salvaged
• if you are low on favor, gear will drop as "unsalvagable"
• if you're using auto compatibility config, many trashy gear like stone swords will be unsalvagable by default. Yes I know you'd want to make a bonsai farm to get infinite salvaging loot :)
