All gears have some requirement to wear them, if you don't meet it, equipping it will instantly de-equip the gear.

First, we have the Level Requirements. Every item requires something I will call Combat Level or Age of Exile Level to differentiate it from vanilla enchanting levels.

Secondly, there's Stat requirements. Items will require different core stats to be equipped, in general:

• Mage items will require Intelligence/Wisdom *Warrior items will require Vitality/Strength *Ranger/Asassasin items will require Agility/Dexterity

In short, depending on your Talent Tree, you will be able to equip different types of gear. You can also allocate stat points to fill the gaps.
