Iron Stomach is a potion effect added by Scaling Feast. It reduces the rate at which exhaustion increases for the affected player. It functions the same as the Fasting enchantment.
Effect
Iron Stomach reduces the rate at which exhaustion increases effectively meaning that a player's hunger lasts longer. It could be thought of as a hunger equivalent to Resistance.
It functions the same as the Fasting enchantment, but is not combined with the enchantment, but instead applied in sequence. For example, Iron Stomach I lowers exhaustion by 20% and Fasting I lowers exhaustion by 10%. Together, Iron Stomach lowers exhaustion first by 20% and then Fasting lowers the result by 10%, giving an overall reduction of 28% (1-(1-0.2)x(1-0.1)), not 30% (1-(1-0.2)+(1-0.1)). In other words, the two effects combine multiplicatively.
For the table below, the third column shows how many extra blocks a player could sprint across before losing 1 point of hunger. Normally, a player can sprint 40 blocks before losing a point of hunger (assuming no saturation is present).

Since levels 5 and above reduce the rate at which exhaustion increases by 100%, Iron Stomach at a level of 5 or higher will prevent the player's food stats from ever decreasing.
