Bloated is a potion effect added by Scaling Feast. It acts as the hunger analogue to vanilla's Absorption; adding temporary hunger shanks that appear above the player's hunger in the HUD.
Effect
Upon application of a Bloated effect, the player is immediately granted 4 (
) Bloated hunger shanks per level, which appear above the player's hunger in the HUD. Should the player already have Bloated hunger shanks, any Bloated hunger shanks provided by this potion effect are restored. These temporary hunger shanks behave very similarly the regular hunger. Having Bloated hunger results in the following side-effects:

If a player's hunger would decrease (and ONLY when it would decrease. Using commands to set food level does not trigger this effect), that player's Bloated hunger will instead decrease by the corresponding amount. Should the Bloated hunger fully deplete, any leftover amount that needs to be deducted will instead come from a player's actual hunger.

Regardless of a player's Bloated hunger amount, the player can only sprint under the regular conditions (In vanilla, this can only occur when at 7 (
) hunger or greater). That is, Bloated hunger shanks can not allow the player to sprint, if they couldn't already. -
In contrast to the above point, a player with Bloated hunger shanks can not starve - even if a player's actual hunger is 0. If the player's Bloated hunger shanks deplete or are otherwise removed (such as by the effect expiring) while at 0 hunger, they will begin to starve normally.
Like vanilla's Absorption, a player's Bloated hunger does not regenerate on its own, nor will their Bloated hunger regenerate while under the Metabolism potion effect. Once Bloated hunger is lost, it is lost permanently. The only way to regain Bloated hunger is to regain it via the original source that granted it (in this case, by reapplying the potion effect. However, mods that use or interact with Scaling Feast can grant a player Bloated hunger without applying the potion effect, much like vanilla with Absorption.)
When this effect expires, any Bloated hunger provided by this effect is revoked.

Known Bugs
Much like vanilla's Absorption, exiting a world and rejoining causes a player's Bloated hunger provided by this effect to be restored. This is to mimic the way Absorption behaves.
