Simon Says is a Triggered Chaos Effect. It lasts 70 ticks and only triggers once.

Effects

When Simon Says is applied, it tells the player to either jump or sneak or else they will perish. If the player performs that action before the effect expires, nothing happens. If they instead fail to perform the requested action before the effect expires or performs the opposite action (jumping when asked to sneak and vice versa), they will be killed and the effect will trigger. The death message the player receives depends on how they failed the request.

  • If they didn't perform the correct action in time, the death message will say <player> didn't follow instructions in time.
    • If the player was attacked by a mob recently, the death message will then say <player> didn't follow instructions in time because they were distracted by <entity>
  • If the player performs the wrong action as described above, the death message will say <player> disobeyed instructions.
    • If the player was attacked by a mob recently, the death message will then say <player> disobeyed instructions because <entity> told them to

If the player is under the effects of Press L to Levitate, they will always be asked to sneak.

The effect triggers when the requested action is performed successfully and Simon Says will not kill the player if they perform the other action after triggering.

Applicability

Simon Says is only applicable if the player is not sneaking and not submerged in water.

Exclusivity

Simon Says is mutually exclusive with Memory Game.
