Chaos Effect: Mob Rain - yeelp/MCCE GitHub Wiki

Mob Rain is a Timed Chaos Effect. It lasts anywhere from 1200 to 2400 ticks when applied.

Effect

When applied, Mob Rain will cause a random entity to fall from the sky every tick. The entity will spawn at the build limit and will spawn no further than 15 blocks away from the player horizontally. Only certain entities can fall from the sky in this manner, including:

  • Arrows
  • Axolotls
  • Bogged (as of version 1.2+)
  • Camels
  • Cave Spiders
  • Cods
  • Cows
  • Creepers
  • Dolphins
  • Donkeys
  • Drowneds
  • Elder Guardians
  • Endermen
  • Endermites
  • Evokers
  • Thrown Experience Bottles
  • Foxes
  • Frogs
  • Glow Squids
  • Goats
  • Guardians
  • Hoglins
  • Horses
  • Husks
  • Illusioners
  • Llamas
  • Magma Cubes (With a random size from 1 to 10) (no longer as of version 1.2+)
  • Mooshrooms (Red variant only)
  • Mules
  • Pandas
  • Pigs
  • Piglins

All living entities spawn without equipment, even if they would normally always spawn with equipment (Like Skeletons and Vindicators). Projectiles like Arrows, Spectral Arrows and Tridents can not be picked up. Wardens will always survive the fall and then immediately burrow into the "ground" and despawn. Mobs will almost always die upon contact with the ground due to the fall distance, unless they fell in something that prevents fall damage. In addition, having an effect like Pillager Disguises active will cause any nearby Villagers that fall to turn into into an Illager, which will reset their fall distance, causing them to likely survive the fall and they will have strong and potentially enchanted equipment.

Any mob spawned by this effect will be persistent if it is hostile. Regardless, it will automatically despawn 1200 (2400 in version 1.1) ticks after the effect expires. If the mob transformed (Like a Piglin into a Zombified Piglin), they will not despawn and will remain persistent.

Applicability

Mob Rain can not be the first effect a player receives after spawning in the world for the first time.

Mob Rain is only applicable if the player's current position is exposed to the sky. Afterwards, it doesn't matter where the player is, the player mus just be exposed to the sky for Mob Rain to apply. However, even if these conditions are met, there is a 25% chance that Mob Rain can't be selected.

Exclusivity

Mob Rain is not exclusive with any other Chaos Effect.
