Item Rain is a Timed Chaos Effect. It lasts anywhere from 1200 to 2400 ticks when applied.
Effect
When applied, Item Rain will cause a random item to fall from the sky every tick. There are no restrictions on what items can fall from the sky. The item will spawn at the build limit and will be spawn no further than 15 blocks away from the player horizontally. While any item is possible, including snapshot items that are disabled and even Bundles, there are some caveats to some items:
- Items will never be enchanted
- Tools and armor will always be at full durability
- Shulker Boxes and Bundles will always be empty.
- Potions, Splash Potions, Lingering Potions and Tipped Arrows will have no potion effects.
In version 1.2+, the items spawned by Item Rain will despawn 1200 ticks after the effect expires.
Applicability
Item Rain can not be the first effect for players that spawn in the world for the first time.
Item Rain is only applicable if the player's current position is exposed to the sky. Afterwards, it doesn't matter where the player is, the player must just be exposed to the sky for Item Rain to apply. However, even if these conditions are met, there is a 25% chance that Item Rain can't be selected.
Exclusivity
Item Rain is not exclusive with any other Chaos Effect.
