Goals - yaml/YAML2 GitHub Wiki

YAML2 Primary Goals:

• Produce a YAML 2.0 language.
• Produce a test suite that acts as a working specification.
• Produce at least one full-stack implementation in every supported language.
  • Support at least: Ruby, Python, Perl, PHP, JavaScript and Java.
• Produce a YAML 2.0 libyaml parser/emitter library.
• Produce a YAML 2.0 compliant YPath implementation.
• Produce an Open Source book about the YAML language and toolchain.

YAML2 Language Goals:

• Keep the Good Parts.
  • Keep JSON compatibility.
• Lose the Bad Parts.
  • Improve YAML by making it simpler.

Community Goals:

• Make the language design and implementation a very open process.
• Use GitHub, Wiki and IRC as primary forms of communication.
• All content and implementations will be stored on GitHub.
• Members of the 'yaml2' GitHub organization can change any repository.
• Anyone who wants to can be an organization member. Just ask.
