Welcome to the Documentation page of the IBM Dementia Protector Project!
This wiki contains a detailed explanation of every aspect of the Project. To develop your own Dementia Protector, follow the steps presented in each one of the following Pages.
The team meeting notes presents all the decisions made in each of the meetings in a chronological order. Feel free to consult them if you are interested.
What is IBM Dementia Protector (PAIGE)?
This project has a goal of creating a smart wristband that can be worn by a dementia patient to allow for their independence when out in public.
One main feature is a smart assistant, PAIGE, who has conversations with the user to determine if they need help. If the user needs help (either through talking to PAIGE, selecting a contact, clicking the HELP button, or abnormal heartbeat/skin humidity sensor readings), their carers (emergency contacts) are sent the current location of the user and the location of a nearby safe place, which the user is automatically directed to.
Further details of each part of this project, including the companion app and additional features of the project, can be found in the wiki.
