This document explains how to install a Virtual Machine to run Ubuntu.

1.) Within windows 10 click start/cortana and search "\srv12" and press enter on the keyboard.

2.) Double click File Share and follow this pathway: Disc images>>Linux OS's>>Ubuntu>>Desktop>>16>>64>>Right click file, copy and paste it to your desktop.

3.) Go back and click start/cortana and search "Hyper-V".

4.) Select Hyper-V Manager and the application will open.

5.) Click 3183-13 and select new.

6.) For name type your initials-ubuntu-ITC136.

7.) Select Next.

8.) For start up memory use 4096 MB and unselect dynamic memory.

9.) Configure network connection by clicking the drop down and select "EXT".

10.) Change size amount to 20 GB.

11.) Select install from bootable CD/DVD-ROM and then select Image file, browse to where you pasted ubuntu from the server ( this should have been the desktop) and press next.

12.) This is the summary of the work completed. Press finish.

SETTING UP UBUNTU--

1.) Select your language and install Ubuntu.

2.) Select Erase disk and then install now.

3.) Select your time zone.

4.) Select your keyboard layout.

5.) Next screen will ask to create a user account, type your name, computer name, user name and password then click Continue to begin the installation.

6.) Restart the machine when prompted.
