MyCommunity Diary User Guide - xerocrypt/Misc GitHub Wiki

What's What

The main content is at the centre of the screen. To the left is the tabbed personal menu, with options for MyProfile, MyEvents, MyGroup and MyPeople. These list the events, groups and other users you have subscribed to.

Personal Profile and Account

I recommend setting a strong password - a password that contains letters, numbers and a few symbols.

The application will ask for your full name. This can, but doesn't need to be, your actual real name. We don't check, and we don't expect anybody to verify your identity.

The nickname must be unique - it must be a name that no other user on the network is using.

Safe and Secure and Private

When you register a MyCommunity account and set up your profile, the details are stored on a database. We store the bare minimum of data required to provide the service, and we do not sell the data to third-parties.

Should you contact us to request help, we would only request the nickname and email address you registered. We will not request any other personal details, or ask you to verify your identity. Do not provide your password or other personal information to anyone.

Finslly, everything you publish on MyCommunity, apart from messages to other users, is public and can be seen by all other users. Do not post any private information you wouldn't wish to be disclosed publicly.
