Using X-Dream
Starting
On a Trixter/Dell PC, X-Dream is started automatically. On systems that have not been configured this way, start it by executing TrixterAppRelease.exe
Using the Keyboard
X-Dream's user interface (UI) refers to 7 buttons that are on the X-Dream V1 bike's dashboard. As these buttons can wear out and be unresponsive, it can be helpful to use a keyboard instead.
Bike | Context | Keyboard | Notes |
---|---|---|---|
Green (Start) | Everywhere | K | |
Blue (Change View) | In Game | 9 | not on the numeric keypad, hold to change view. Not available with Full Steering Assist |
Red (Cancel) | Menus | I | e.g. hold cancel to skip |
Red (Cancel) | In Game | Esc | hold to exit gameplay |
Arrows | Everywhere | cursor/arrow keys |
To exit the application: Esc (from the menus) and Alt-F4
Running X‐Dream in a Window and or via Remote Desktop
The utility DXWnd can be used to run the X-Dream software in a window, with a variety of options for changing DirectX configuration. Get it here: https://sourceforge.net/projects/dxwnd/ When running in a Window via DXWnd, it even works over a remote desktop connection.
Why would you want to do this?
You might want to run it in a window so you can watch streaming video or read your email, or attend a video conference in another window.
As for remote desktop - because you can! Development purposes, perhaps.
