# 2015-09-09 - Kick-off Team WebEx Janet, Mike, Krzysztof, Carlos, Nonong (talked with John before and after) Reviewed project goals and timeline from project description. Reviewed project resources (salaries, travel, etc). Janet will prepare a individualized letter to announce the commencement of the X-DOMES project and have a simple logo developed for the team's review.

Developed workspace on GitHub; populated by Carlos https://github.com/orgs/xdomes Discussed logos; Janet will send out link for comments and will make a decision based upon comments. Reminded team to read document regarding EarthCube Final Report from Dec 2014 http://earthcube.org/sites/default/files/doc-repository/EC-PPF-FINAL.pdf In particular, we have noted collaboration with the Building Block funded projects: BCUBE and GeoLINK. Janet is also tentatively making plans to have a team meeting Nov 18-20, hosted at NCAR at Boulder CO by Mike Daniels, who is the lead PI for CHORDS. So, please review at least those three building block descriptions. We should also look at the others for synergies, overlaps and collaboration opportunities. Nonong secured xdomes.org and xdomes.net (Network Solutions) holding for three years.

Day 1: meet each other (tasks & timing); discuss MMI/ORR/Q2O_model/OpenSensorHub; engaging sensor mfgrs; Day 2: ESIP-EC and summer meeting; EarthCube BB (GeoLINK, CHORD) and DataONE collaboration; (more tasks & timing)

I still haven't heard much (anything) from NSF about announcing and coordinating our BB & IA awards. The next EarthCube TAC meeting is 10/5 4pm EDT.

At some point, we need to do an assessment of others' activities that are going on regarding sensor metadata. So tomorrow we will talk about this to start a list of other aligned projects. E.G., from an email today:"I am at the ODIP workshop in Paris, and we're talking about semantic markup for sensor data." so if anyone else knows where our opportunities for collaboration exist, let's create a list.
