Card Selection

The objective of this approach is to find hidden relations between data in a set of transactions. The most common example is a supermarket which tries to know which articles are usually sold together by analysing their customer carts. Once the articles are identified, the supermarket can take actions to improve the sales of these items (example: put them closer inside the shop).

What is a deck at Magic?

A deck at Magic is a set of cards (usually around 60) that will be played together. Each player has its own deck. The aim of Magic is to defeat your opponent with the cards coming from your deck.

Application to recommendation system

A deck is a selection of different cards to gain an advantage on the opponent. The choice of these cards is really important. The player will try to put together cards with a nice synergie between them.

As such, to help a player to build his deck, it is interesting to find these synergies to suggest interesting cards that are usually played together.
