Game Backup - xAranaktu/FIFA-23-Live-Editor GitHub Wiki

Nowadays quite often the game updates can break the live editor and mods, so it's important to know how to stop the game from updating or rollback when needed in case you don't want to wait for the LE update.

I'll show how to do it only on EA APP. I don't have the game on Steam or Epic, I don't know how to do it on these platforms, so you need to figure it out by yourself.

In general I don't recommend to buy EA games on other platforms than EA App if you want to mod the game. It just adds unnecessary complexity.

Disabling Game Updates

To disable the game updates click on the three lines in top left corner of the EA App, then go to settings, download and disable update games automatically option.

Creating backup of the game files

If you want to rollback you need to have copy of the game files from the game version you need. If you don't have the files then it's not possible to rollback as the EA doesn't offer anything to download these files from their servers.

You need to create the backup BEFORE you download latest game update.

To copy the game files go to your game install location, then one directory up (in my case it's I:\Gry\Origin2)

copy the FIFA 23 folder (right click -> copy, right click -> paste)

then you can rename FIFA 23 - Copy to whatever you want. I usually name the folder after title update.

How to rollback

  1. Run the latest game version without any mods, LE, CT and go to main menu and connect with EA servers and close the game. I do this to make sure the game is activated, so denuvo will allow me to play offline.
  2. Go Offline on EA App
  3. Rename FIFA 23 to FIFA 23_LATEST.
  4. Rename FIFA 23_TU7 to FIFA 23.
  5. Run the game.

How to restore latest version

you should still be in offline mode on EA App at this point

  1. Rename FIFA 23 to FIFA 23_TU7.
  2. Rename FIFA 23_LATEST to FIFA 23.
  3. Go Online on EA App
  4. Run the game.
