How to open formation editor

• Run the FIFA 23 Live Editor. (Getting Started Guide)
• Press F9 on your keyboard to open the menu
• From Window click on Features

• Open Teams

• Wait a moment until the tool load the players
• Find Player and Click on Edit icon to start editing him

• From menu bar click on Team -> Formation.

How to change formation

• Load your career save
• After you save is loaded don't click anything in-game, just open formation editor
• Change formation for all mentalities from 1 to 5

Mentalities are sorted from Ultra Defensive to Ultra Offensive. Some teams may have less than 5 mentalities (I don't know why, the game just doesn't have more for some reason). Most probably the default mentality is always under 3 regardless how many mentalities the team have.

• From menu bar in formation editor window click on Data -> Save

• Hide Live Editor (by pressing F9)
• In-game save your career (preferably on new slot in case something breaks)
• Exit career mode
• Load the career you just saved
• Now you should be able to see that the team is using new formation when you will play against them or when you will try to import their teamsheet.

How to Freeze Lineup

This feature can be used in player career mode if you want to manage the starting lineup of your team. Can be also used in manager career mode to manually manage your next oponent starting lineup. May not work for the fixtures that you are not participating in.

To freeze the lineup:

1. Open formation editor for the team you want to edit.
2. Swap players around on the "Pitch"
3. Tick the "Freeze Lineup" checkbox

4. Save changes in the formation editor (Data -> Save)
