Read Only Mode - wvulibraries/mfcs GitHub Wiki

When MFCS is put into read only mode objects (metadata and standard records) cannot be updated.

Other admin functions, such as user management, watermarks, etc ... are still available to those with access.

It is recommended that MFCS be put into ReadOnly mode whenever updating software or performing migrations/manipulations from the command line. This way, if there is a problem, the database can be restored to the point prior to the migration/update without any loss of data. Being in read only mode allows users to still access data if needed.
