(Recommended) Going Offline

Before selecting the "Start Hotspot" button. We recommend doing the following first.

Press the button to bring up the settings on the left side of the screen, go to Wi-Fi settings.

In here make sure you press "Enter Offline Mode"

Wi-Fi_Settings

While you can bypass this section, we highly recommend this to ensure game lobbies over the ad-hoc connection can be found successfully.

Once that has been switched, your wi-fi bar on the top will have a purple X dot next to the Wi-Fi icon.

BUT MAKE SURE TO KEEP THE WI-FI ON.

Starting Muon

Now you can go back to the Plugin and hit "Start Hotspot" You'll have to wait a few seconds, you should get a toaster notification saying "hotspot started" and the button will be changed to "Stop Hotspot" (Note: If this doesn't happen, please go to the Q & A section for troubleshooting)

If your guest is able to see the Host SSID in their Wi-Fi searching once they found it, show them the passphrase on your steam deck for them to enter.

Once connected you should see this under connected devices:

Muon_Connected

The Green Bar on the left indicates Signal Strength, the signal strength goes as follows:

  • Green - Strong Strength
  • Yellow - Medium Strength
  • Orange - Low Strength
  • Red - Zero Strength

The Boot to the right, you can press that button to blacklist any unwanted devices connect to your device, and to unban them, go into the Wi-Fi settings tab under "Manage Blocked Devices"

Now you've started a hotspot and a guest is able to connect from your end, we're ready to play some games!
